Since I was a wee nipper, I've sort of built up a rucksack collection along the years. Amongst these are; a new back pack for school one year, a satchel for work, numerous free gym bags and a few travelling backpacks whilst travelling. I'm sure there's plenty more. There are plenty of great reasons to use a backpack whilst walking wherever you go.
The Backpack
The term ?backpacking' has always been a way to denote a low cost way of travelling, normally independently, around the world. The backpackers put all their essential belongs in their bag and whizz around the world for long or short distances of time ? perhaps on a student's gap year. Backpackers will usually stay in youth hostels and use a lot of public transport to travel around. This backpacking culture has developed in the 2000s, as young adults who have less tying them down than older ones.
History of the rucksack
Giovanni Francesco GemeliCareri was apparently the first backpacker ever cited in the mid-1600s. But a lot of rucksack roots can be linked back to the Hippie Trail in the 1960s. Changes in backpacking through the years can be put down to new technological advances in the last few decades. People now carry electronics such as laptops, smart phones, digital cameras, iPads and so forth in a desire to keep connected with others.
The positives of a backpack
There a few very decent advantages to wearing a backpack at any time in the day.
Stylish: Rucksacks and backpacks come in many different shapes and styles and even some novelty ones for children also.
Storage: The size of your backpack is normally determined by how many items you want to put it in. Different backpacks come with different zips ? an avid backpacker will probably want a bag with many zips and compartments.
Problems you may experience
If your bag is too heavy it may but a strain on your shoulders and lower back. If this happens, change the way you wear your bag ? perhaps not over on shoulder.
