Donald Osborne lives for old cars- especially, but not exclusively, those of the out-of-the-mainstream European variety. The principal of collector vehicle appraisers and consultants Automotive Valuation Services, based in Palm Springs, CA, he travels the US and Europe attending major events, rallies and auctions, working for clients across the world.
Co-host of the nationally-broadcast TV show ?What?s My Car Worth? on Discovery?s ?Velocity? network and a longtime Contributing Editor and Auction Analyst for Sports Car Market magazine, his writing on classic cars has also been published in The New York Times, BusinessWeek Online, Hagerty magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Art & Antiques, Palm Springs Life and Road & Track among others.
Donald has served as emcee, announcer or judge at many concours d?elegance events across the country, a partial list of which includes The Concours of America at Meadow Brook, Fairfield County Concours, Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue, Le Belle Macchine d?Italia, The 100 Motorcars of Radnor Hunt, Forest Grove Concours, Greystone Mansion Concours and the Dana Point Concours.
He is a member of the Society of Automotive Historians, Mercedes-Benz Club of America, Vintage Sports Car Club of America, Alfa Romeo Owners Club, Ferrari Club of America, Lamborghini Club, Shelby American Automobile Club, Rolls-Royce Owner?s Club, Bentley Drivers Club and the American Lancia Club, of whose magazine Lanciana, he served as Editor. A featured contributor to the volumes ?Keith Martin on Collecting Alfa Romeo? and ?Keith Martin?s Guide to Car Collecting?, he is currently working on a book on the character, meaning and philosophy of automotive preservation and restoration.
